Vintage and contemporary e-boutique re-launches

Washington, DC – December 1, 2008 -- suigenerisboutique.com is back. The relaunch of the popular fashion site that features keenly chosen vintage, vintage-inspired and contemporary clothing and accessories for fashion-forward women has been long awaited.

suigenerisboutique.com made its initial introduction in the fall of 2005 and quickly positioned itself as the antithesis to mainstream clothing stores. Staying true to its name – sui generis is a Latin term meaning unique and a class of its own – mostly every item on its pages is offered as one of a kind. Once it’s bought, it’s gone.

Now, just over 3 years later, suigenerisboutique.com is making its presence known with an even louder re-entrance to the e-world of fashion.

“suigenerisboutique.com is reinvented,” says Owner and Creative Director, Halimah Whitby. And it was a well thought out reinvention. “I was careful not to lose the vibe that shoppers had come to love and associate with the boutique. But it was definitely time to step it up a notch and be sure that the site was indicative of the passion and vision behind it.”

Aesthetically, the site is well designed, easily navigable, visually pleasant, and heavy with changing photography with each click. It also features three sets of color schemes that also change with each click. Its grassroots nature is more apparent, as well.

“We’ve added a Gigs page that seeks emerging talent – designers, models, photographers, writers, street teams and more. We’ll also be seeking buyers who need not have any formal training, necessarily. There is some notable talent out there who can hold their own but are not household names. They may not otherwise have the opportunity to show-off their swag but they can here.”

With that, the new items come from the hands of up and coming designers. “Up and coming designers and even hobbyists are refreshing. They have an uninhibited, fresh approach to fashion which speaks well for the sui generis boutique approach." Some of the attention-grabbing photography is from the portfolios of up and coming photographers as well. The models are fresh faced, too.

Other new additions to the site include a fashion editorial page that will feature a series of cool story-like photos and an accompanying fashion and lifestyle blog: sgboutique.blogspot.com.

The pages are full of an eclectic fusion of items that appeal to the fashion forward. These items are influenced by current fashion and are a fine mixture of of-the-moment styles along with throwback and random styles. The site will be updated regularly.

The boutique continues to speak to the everyday fashionista whose style is broadly influenced and who is well aware of her own sense of style. She knows what works for her and what doesn’t.

Shoppers still embrace suigenerisboutique.com because there’s a little something for everyone and the prices are attractive. “We still speak to the everyday fashionista because I realize that the everyday fashionista has everyday bills. We want to look good but that rent and car note has to be paid.” They are pleased with the low shipping and handling costs (shipping and handling fees are free for purchases over $100), safe payment options, and a reasonable return and exchange policy in an e-world of no-return policies.

Suigenerisboutique.com has paved a fabulous place for itself in the cyber world. With so much more to come it still proves to be … sui generis.
